Thomas Horn
Software engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina
Tech lead at Buyers Edge Platform, on a back-office and accounting application for restaurants. I also make small apps through my own company, Pretty Good Software.
Now
- At Buyers Edge Platform, I'm working on the accounting system and on making the product work for restaurant groups that run many brands and locations.
- Pretty Good Video Coaching, my iPhone app for physical therapists, is in TestFlight beta. I'm working through feedback from the therapists testing it.
- I was the founding engineer at CollectivIQ, and I'm now a part-time technical advisor there.
- I'm building agentom, my harness for coding with agents. It works in any tool, on any kind of work: the agent builds, the decisions come back to me with their options laid out, and I review what it built as flows and rules read from the code.

Buyers Edge since 2021 Tech lead on a back-office and accounting application.
- 01 · Enterprise access Access that follows the shape of the company I lead the enterprise work in Operations: making the platform fit large groups that run many brands and locations. Its first major piece is an authorization system I designed and built from scratch. See it drawn in the tour →
- 02 · General ledger Double-entry, one transaction at a time I rebuilt the general ledger with the lead architect, moving it from single journal entries to transactions. Each transaction carries the lines of one business event, and the accounting rules are enforced on it before it posts. See it drawn in the tour →
- 03 · Bank rec Proving the books match the bank I architected and built bank reconciliation, and the financial reporting layer on top of it. See it drawn in the tour →
- 04 · Review Second reviewer on every architecture PR I own the frontend architecture and help set the backend’s with the lead architect. Most of the code I review is outside my own team. See it drawn in the tour →
Working with agents agentom My harness for coding with agents.
- 01 · The calls The agent builds, the decisions come back to me agentom is my harness for coding with agents. Even when I take the agent’s recommendation, I see every decision laid out with its options and context, as if we made it together. See it drawn in the tour →
- 02 · The review Reviewing the work as flows and rules What the agent built comes back as one view I can zoom into, instead of a long diff: how the code flows, what must hold, and where the code holds it. See it drawn in the tour →
- 03 · Anything Whatever I throw at it, wherever it runs agentom is built for one person: me. It bends to the job instead of the other way round, and the decisions still come back to me. See it drawn in the tour →
CollectivIQ since 2025 Founding engineer, now a part-time technical advisor.
- Four models Asking four models at once, then comparing Buyers Edge’s AI platform sends each prompt to GPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok in parallel and reconciles their answers. I built it from zero to handoff, then stepped back to advise part time. See it drawn in the tour →
Pretty Good Software 2026 Two iPhone apps, designed and built by me.

About
I studied neuroscience at Rhodes College, then computer science at the University of Georgia. I got into programming to automate tedious work, and that's still what I enjoy most. I've taught high school computer science through Microsoft TEALS and volunteer with ChickTech.
